Little People Preschool
Position Statement for Overall Program
Young children develop in different ways and at different rates. They each have their own internal clock, which ticks away at its own rhythm. Some children mature quicker, some later. Each child, regardless of their current developmental stage, has potential, worth, strengths, talents, and abilities uniquely their own.
Little People Preschool understands that the preschool years are an optimum time for development of fundamental motor skills, language development, and other key foundational aspects of development that have lifelong implications. Little People Preschool works to ensure that children after attending are ready for successful school experiences as they move on to Kindergarten.
We at Little People Preschool desire to work with parents in understanding the child’s needs and strive to provide appropriate experiences to meet those needs. Our program is based on the understanding of the developmental stages and needs of the preschool child. The guidelines set forth by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services and the Ohio Child Licensing and Quality System are the basis for our philosophy and methods.
Objectives for each age group do overlap to some degree. This takes into account that children progress at their personal pace and some particulars need to be addressed with each age group.
We strive to maintain classrooms with an atmosphere of firmness and consistency containing limits when necessary; warmth; respect for others and property; understanding and patience; accepting a child as they are, including strong feelings (both positive and negative), giving them a sense of well-being and a feeling of belonging; encouraging independence and self-discipline.
We are a Christian based privately owned preschool. We teach, along with academics required for Kindergarten…… love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
